    Kawada Drift Star Motor

    Friday, February 8, 2008, 06:16 PM [General]

Got one of these off Jun, ordered Tuesday, sent Thursday, received today... As usual with their service :) Can't fault it! So took it out of the wrapping, put the wires on, and had to go back to work :P Finished work, came home and put the motor into my DF-03 which the rear wing is looking a bit dinky cause its been flipped so many times. Took it for a test drive out onto the road and it just flys! With the 23T Superstock RZ, I would have estimated the speed to be around 40k, but now with a 15T motor in it, I reckon over 50k :P wish it had a speedo on it to confirm. So its been buzzing up and down my street for a while :P Need a real car to race it against ;)

    DF-02 Plasma Edge...

    Wednesday, January 2, 2008, 12:38 PM [General]

Just surfing around on the net this morning and came across this new car. On closer inspection, something familiar appeared out of it. Take the stickers off, and you find a DF-02 Gravel Hound under it :S http://www.fusionhobbies.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=TA58399 Tamiya must be getting desperate or something, but this "new car" is just the Gravel Hound with a different set of stickers! I wonder how many people will buy it :P

    Clod in the dark

    Sunday, December 30, 2007, 08:58 PM [General]

Day off today so I went to the BMX track and thrashed about with the DF-03 and that was good fun :) Flipped it a few times though but it was pretty cool sliding around on the lose gravel. I softened the dampers before taking it out and it started slapping the ground when it landed which wasn't too good. I went back just before with my Clod, and that was the coolest thing ever!! :P Clod actually went quite fast and looked great in the dark with the headlights. They function not only as an aesthetic purpose, but it actually lights up about 30cm in front of the truck which helped me spot it driving around the track in the dark :D Clod handles the jumps like nothing :P Was so fun watching it bob up and down the little bumps, and you can hear the wheels spinning as it pushed its way up the big hills. Even does some drifting on the lose gravel ;) Great fun, and I really recommend it :P I'm looking at you Wayne ;) When you get your clod up and running of course :P WOOT!

    DF-03 Transformed

    Saturday, December 29, 2007, 06:32 PM [General]

Just to follow on from my last post, I was doing another small project too :) I got a Dark Impact shell, stickers, and black rims, and now I can interchange my DF-03 between the two :) DI is pretty sexy in black, and I'm thinking Avante MKII wouldn't be so bad either ;) Maybe that will be another project :P One thing I'm not too fond of with the DF-03 shells is how you have to drill your own body holes. I wrecked a MKII body once while drilling, and don't particularly want to repeat that experience. Still thinking about other future projects and still eyeing out the DB-01 Durga, but financially, I probably shouldnt :P

    Clod Makeover

    Friday, December 28, 2007, 08:04 PM [General]

Well I brought a couple Monster truck aluminum damper sets and fitted them to my Super Clodbuster, and also a light kit :) Very happy with the light kit which now gives the Super Clodbuster a realistic feel :P, but I wish there could be something fitted to the "lights" on the roll cage... Would be cool, but there is no place for lights to be fitted. Ahh well. Alloy damper are a bit on the thin side... They don't look beefy enough on the Super Clodbuster, but does make it handle bumps better. Take a look at the pics I took :)
